AS9100 supplements ISO 9001 standards with additional quality system requirements, which are established by the aerospace industry in order to satisfy DOD, NASA and FAA quality requirements. The standard is designed to establish a single quality management system. The standard was developed by the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and was supported by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). AS9100 satisfies the requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations. The standard is recognized worldwide and the content should be identical regardless of participating countries numbering conventions.
